The heart of the matter: Supporting emotions in designing workplace experience

By Tim Oldman Founder & CEO, Leesman - UK

Worker sentiment and the impact of emotion—both positive and negative—in the workplace is a well-researched aspect of organizational culture. But it can also be one of the hardest facets of the employee experience for employers to manage. Here we consider the impact of the workplace design on employee emotions and experience.

Best practice workplace operations for covid conditions

There can be no doubt that all employers have a duty to provide conditions of employment that allow people to be, and stay, healthy. However, making the covid vaccine mandatory for its employees is a complex issue, which involves health and safety, employment, human rights and ethical considerations.

By David Whiteing Group COO, Standard Chartered Bank, Singapore

COVID has taken real estate and workplace from the backroom to the boardroom. The consensus appears to be that in the post COVID world, we will shift to the hybrid flexible workplace model with digital office support and improved collaboration strategies. The financial sector has rather mixed views on this strategy.

Engaging inclusive communication strategies for the hybrid workplace

As many of us have learned working remotely over the past few months, work doesn’t happen at the same time for everyone. Today’s world may be always on, but that doesn’t mean that your employees should be, or that they should miss important discussions because they’re offline or in a different time zone.

Visualising building data and realising the potential of Digital Twins

Building and facilities processes can be represented by millions of data points. Historically, building design, construction, operations and maintenance information has been delivered in standard report formats requiring professionals to wade through enormous amounts of data to find critical information. Digital Twins allow data from BIM, BAS, CAFM, sensor networks and additional facility information feeds to be displayed on a 3D graphic representation of the real estate asset. In the digitised version of the physical structure, data can be viewed in an efficient and effective manner and AI and machine learning integrations help to uncover operation optimisation opportunities.
