Twinview is a browser-based Digital Twin platform for the property sector connecting building systems’ data to a 3D model viewed on a single dashboard. Earlier this year Twinview integrated with Great Portland Estates The Hickman – creating the most intelligent building in the world. We hear from the implementer and the client. 

Akademiska Hus is one of Sweden’s largest real estate companies. They build, develop and manage education assets located in places all over Sweden. Within their assets, 300,000 people study, research and work every day. They also use a digital twin to optimize the performance of their assets.  

City Rail Link is the largest transport infrastructure project New Zealand has ever attempted, the first metro project the country has ever done, and with the most onerous mandated digital deliverables a New Zealand project has ever had.  

The Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport terminal is a transformational infrastructure project of national significance, driving economic growth and providing thousands of job opportunities for the people of Western Sydney, while supporting Sydney’s growing aviation needs. We consider the advantages of using a twin and how it might also be used by the owners. 

Industry studies and a vast portfolio of pan-sector examples show us the benefits of twins for enhanced performance, optimised usage, better predictions and better decision-making. But, the question remains – how will it generate benefit for your organisation specifically? This twinning case study outlines the key outcomes to date for a global leader in water management.  

Projects are increasingly using internationally leading technologies and workflows to improve project delivery. To ensure this adoption is consistent and value-adding, projects are implementing best practice standards and requirements to ensure the high quality information created throughout delivery is unlocked and managed effectively in the asset management phase.  

The National Digital Twin programme (NDTp) is run by the Centre for Digital Built Britain, a partnership between the University of Cambridge and the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.

Yet to capture its benefits, project teams have to get integrated and change their behaviours. Digital twins, smart cities, and other forms of innovation can only be efficiently deployed if the underlying BIM data is coherent across buildings, cities and regions. But creating a system to encourage data exchange is meaningless without an environment in which it can succeed. In this session you will get insights into how to develop an interconnected ecosystem built around an open platform in which data flows freely. 

We have honed our expertise building digital twins in the energy sector, where highly complex assets, soaring capital expenditure and lengthy operating phases demand a value-driven, full asset lifecycle approach. In this presentation we will share our approach and how we translated this know-how into the built environment, by focusing on ‘right-to-left thinking’ to reflect operational requirements into project delivery – building the operating digital twin alongside the physical asset
