APAC Data Leader, Advanced Digital Engineering, Arup

I lead a team of spatial and data specialists across Australasia, from our offices in Brisbane. 

Our team supports clients by turning often siloed data into the information and insights that ground better decisions. We work on large infrastructure projects across road, rail and aviation and utilities where the sheer volume of data itself is an issue. Our data engineers and analysts automate, transform and amalgamate data sets and sources to create the bigger picture that unlocks better-informed decisions. 

My broad technical background helps we take that wider view of the many data sources involved in complex projects. I started my career as a survey technician before becoming a CAD technician. I have worked for local councils and other assets owners as well as contractors, giving me a good insight into the different needs and ways of working of different clients. 

The value of our approach to data engineering and analysis has been recognised in many awards. Our team has won the Asia Pacific Spatial Excellence award for technical excellence and the Asset Management Council’s information management award, as well as being highly commended for our software and systems work in the Engineers Australia excellence awards.
