Richard Ferris

Chief Technology Officer, AsBuilt

Richard is the Chief Technology and Product Officer at asBuilt, a New Zealand based Technology Company developing and promoting a platform that is using spacial intelligence to improve the way the Construction industry manages and executes the generation of buildings and infrastructure.

Prior to this role, Richard co-founded a corporate startup to use digital twin technology in the architecture, engineering, construction and operation (AECO) value chain. This resulted in developing a software product together with a system for industrialisation.

Before entering the world of start-ups and scale-ups, Richard was a senior leader (Group Chief Technology Officer, Head of Strategy & Architecture) at Lend Lease Group responsible for strategy, selection, delivering and evaluating all technology used by Lend Lease globally which encompasses the leadership of the following functions: IT Strategy & Architecture, Finance, Commercial, Risk & Procurement, Strategic Sourcing / Vendor Management , Risk & Security, PMO & Strategic Planning, Organisational Design, and Business Analysis

With a masters in Computer Science, a software developer by training, I understand Technology through the years, learnt on how to apply transformation into complex environments across large enterprises, influencing massive projects, and responding to challenging customers and now enjoy using that experience successfully within startup and scale up initiatives.

I have deep project and program delivery experience and a proven track record of meeting targets, plus I carry great range of interpersonal skills which sees me comfortable within the board room at C level, to engineers and designers in the tech world, and on construction sites where the real work happens.

I combine both delivery and technology skills with strategic and innovative thinking with honest and trustworthy approach to leading teams.
