Tamika Smith

Chair, Top 100 Women and Executive Director, My Bella Casa

Tamika Smith has been listed in the Top 3 Female Entrepreneurs as voted by Gold Coast Bulletin, named “Most Influential Woman in Construction” by International Built Awards in the UK and has had a long standing career within the construction sector since her late teens.

Tamika’s expertise covers from effectively chairing and managing at a board level, to development, project management and overseeing Australian residential manufacturing for affordable housing.

Developing a passion for wanting to make the industry better, TSR was founded by delivering private and government projects overseeing residential projects within the realms of an entire development, development management and project management. TSR specialises in working with community housing providers to deliver turn key affordable housing projects as a development partner. Particularly as the need for this type of housing grows, and original programs such as NRAS come to a conclusion.

Tamika was able to highlight the largest group facing homelessness – women over 55. Off the back of working in the affordable housing segment for some time saw the successful launch of “My Bella Casa”, Australian manufacturing building 1 & 2 bed homes at an affordable price, the most in demand size on our housing waitlist. “We were able to reduce the cost of construction and build these homes within weeks! Being innovative enough to not rely on governments was a driving force behind this business and the uptake has already been huge! Already within the community sector, we have been inundated with calls with the demand just continuing to rise. Essentially we have built a bridge between commercial acumen and knowing what this end of the market so desperately needed.”

Top 100 Women, is an online, e-commerce community platform for women in construction connecting some 21,000 individuals all over the world.
